McKey is a small community in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a special area defined by the government for counting people.
In the year 2000, about 135 people lived in McKey. It is part of the larger Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma area. McKey was first started near a place called MacKey's Salt Works. It was also close to the Old Osage and Arkansas Valley Railroad. McKey had its own post office from 1891 until 1928.
