Early Life and Music Journey
McLean was born in London in 1980. His father, John McLean, was also a musician known for "lovers rock" music. McLean is also the older brother of professional footballer Aaron McLean.
Before becoming widely known, McLean used the nickname "Digga." He worked with other artists on different songs. For example, he teamed up with MJ Cole on a song called "Gotta Have It." He also worked with the music group Chase & Status on their song "Take U There," which was part of their album More Than Alot. His song "Broken" was an underground hit that helped him get noticed by major record labels, leading to his deal with Atlantic Records.
First Album Plans
McLean started working on his first album with famous music producers like Fraser T Smith and Nate 'Danja' Hills. Some of the songs planned for this album included "My Name", "Great Escape", and "Finally in Love". However, this album was never officially released.
Later, in 2013, McLean shared a free album on SoundCloud called Digga’s House. In 2019, there were talks that he might release a new collection of songs called an EP, which is shorter than a full album.
