Me'Lisa Barber is a famous American sprinter. She is known for winning big races. After finishing college at the University of South Carolina, she became a champion. She won the USA Outdoor Championship in the 100 metres in 2005. In 2006, she won the World Indoor Championship in the 60 metres. Me'Lisa also helped her team win gold medals. Early Life and School Years
Me'Lisa Barber grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. She has a twin sister named Miki. They both ran track at Montclair High School. Their relay teams were very good. They were even called All-American teams. This means they were among the best in the country.
College and Early Career
Me'Lisa went to the University of South Carolina. During her time there, she won four titles in the SEC. In 2001, she won a gold medal. This was at the World University Games. She was part of Team USA in the 4 × 400 metres relay.
In 2002, she became a co-captain. This was for the South Carolina Gamecocks women's track and field team. That year, her team won the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
