History of Media, Kansas
People first settled in Media in 1878. The town was built along the Kansas City, Lawrence & Southern Kansas Railroad line. This railroad was important for bringing people and goods to the area.
A post office opened in Media in 1878. It helped people send and receive mail. But it closed down in 1903. Over time, Media became part of Baldwin City, a nearby town.
