Meg and Mog

Meg and Mog is a popular series of children's books. They were first written by Helen Nicoll and drawn by Jan Pieńkowski. The first book came out in January 1972.

The stories are all about Meg, a friendly witch whose magic spells often go a bit wrong! She lives with her striped cat named Mog and their wise friend, Owl. After Helen Nicoll passed away in 2012, Jan Pieńkowski and David Walser have continued to create new adventures for Meg and Mog.

The books were also turned into an animated TV show. Absolutely Productions made 52 short episodes, which first aired in the UK on CITV in 2003. The show featured the voices of famous actors like Alan Bennett as Owl, Fay Ripley as Meg, and Phil Cornwell as Mog. There was even a successful stage play in London in the 1980s, with Maureen Lipman playing Meg.
