Meghan Ory (born August 20, 1982) is a Canadian-American actress who has appeared in many movies and television shows. She is famous for playing Red Riding Hood (who is also a werewolf named Ruby) in the ABC fantasy show Once Upon a Time.
Ory also played the main character Abby O'Brien in the Hallmark family drama Chesapeake Shores. Another one of her major roles was playing Riley Neal in the action-drama series Intelligence.

Acting Career
Meghan Ory was born in Victoria, British Columbia, in Canada. She began acting in plays at a young age. Her mother encouraged her to focus on theater before trying to get roles in movies and TV shows.
Early Roles
In 1999, Ory got her first professional acting job in a TV movie called The Darklings. After that, she appeared in the TV series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven.
In 2000, she had a main role in the show Higher Ground. She acted alongside other future stars like Hayden Christensen and A.J. Cook. A year later, in 2001, she joined the cast of the Canadian show Vampire High.
Throughout the early 2000s, Ory appeared in many popular TV shows. These included Smallville, Dark Angel, and The Outer Limits. She also acted in her first movie, a horror film called Decoys, in 2004.
Breakthrough with Once Upon a Time
In 2011, Ory's career took a big step forward when she was cast in the ABC fantasy series Once Upon a Time. She played the dual role of Ruby and her fairytale counterpart, Red Riding Hood.
Her character was a key part of the show's first season. Because she was so popular with fans, she became a main cast member for the second season. After season two, she left to work on another show but returned as a guest star in later seasons.
Starring on TV
In 2013, Ory was chosen for a main role in the CBS action show Intelligence. She played Riley Neal, a Secret Service agent assigned to protect a special agent with a computer chip in his brain. The show lasted for one season.
From 2016 to 2022, Ory starred in the Hallmark series Chesapeake Shores. She played Abby O'Brien-Winters, a successful career woman and single mother who moves back to her hometown. The show was very popular and ran for six seasons.
Personal Life
In 2008, Meghan Ory married actor John Reardon. They had worked together on a TV miniseries called Merlin's Apprentice.
The couple has three children. Their first child, a son, was born in 2018. They welcomed their second child, a daughter, in 2019. Their third child was born in late 2022.
Ory has dual citizenship, meaning she is a citizen of both Canada and the United States. She and her family live in Newfoundland, Canada.
