A Glimpse into Mejorada's Past
Mejorada del Campo has a long history. It was first mentioned in a document from 1247. At that time, it was part of the lands owned by the Bishops of Segovia. These lands were south of a mountain range called the Sistema Central.
Later, in 1574, Mejorada became part of the King's lands. This meant it was now owned by the Spanish Crown.

Mejorada del Campo has some very interesting buildings.
The Self-Built Cathedral
One unique building is the Cathedral of Justo. It has been under construction since October 12, 1961. This cathedral was built by one person, Justo Gallego Martínez, who used to be a monk. It is considered his greatest work.
The Historic Chapel
The town also has a historic building called the Chapel of San Fausto. This old chapel is an important part of the town's history and architecture.
