Melba is a small village located in Canyon County, Idaho. In 2010, about 513 people lived there. This was an increase from 439 people in 2000. Melba is considered part of the larger Boise metropolitan area.

History of Melba

Melba was started in 1912. A man named Clayton C. Todd founded the village. He named it after his daughter, Melba.

Geography of Melba

Melba is located in Idaho. It is about 12 miles (19 km) south of a city called Nampa. The village is also close to the Snake River, about 3 miles (5 km) northeast of it.

The United States Census Bureau reports that Melba covers a total area of about 0.40 square miles (1.04 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 0.39 square miles (1.01 square kilometers), is land. A very small part, about 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometers), is water.
