Menlo is a small community located in the Willapa Valley. It's in Pacific County, Washington, in the United States. Even though it's small, Menlo has a general store, a post office, and the Pacific County Fairgrounds. It's also home to Willapa Valley High School.
History of Menlo
Menlo began as a settlement in 1851. It was started as a "donation land claim." This means people could get land for free if they settled and improved it.
The area got its name in 1893. This happened when the Northern Pacific Railway built its train tracks through the Willapa Valley. The town was named after Menlo Park, a town in California. The name was later shortened to Menlo. This happened when the sign for the town was cut in half.

Parks and Recreation
There are fun places to visit near Menlo. The Willie Keil's Grave State Park Heritage Site is about 2 miles north of the community. This site is a historical park. The Willapa Hills Trail also goes right through Menlo. This trail is great for walking, biking, or even horseback riding.
