Metra is a big train system in the Chicago area. It helps people travel to work, school, and other places. Metra has 241 stations and 11 different train lines.
It is one of the busiest train systems for people traveling in the United States. In fact, it's the biggest one outside of the New York City area! In 2014, over 83 million trips were taken on Metra trains. Metra's busiest day ever was November 4, 2016. This was when the Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series and had a huge celebration!
