Mia Young (born January 9, 1970), known as Mia X, is an American rapper and songwriter. She comes from New Orleans, a city famous for its music. In the early 1990s, she became well-known in the local "bounce" music scene. Mia X was the first female emcee to sign with Master P's record label, No Limit Records. She is famous for working with other No Limit Records artists. These include Master P and Silkk the Shocker on popular albums like Ice Cream Man and Ghetto D.

About Mia X's Life
Mia Young grew up in the Lafitte housing area in New Orleans. Her dad was a truck driver, and her mom was a counselor. She finished Redeemer High School. After a short time at Delgado Community College, she decided to follow her dream of making music.
In 2006, Mia X's publicist announced she was working on a cookbook. Before the book came out, she shared cooking tips online using #teamwhipdempots. Her cookbook was finally released in 2018. Mia X has also faced some health challenges, but she bravely overcame them.
Mia X's Music Journey
Starting in Music
Mia X's music journey began in her hometown of New Orleans. In 1984, she joined a local rap group. She released her first single, "Ask Them ...", in 1992. This song was also on her 1993 mini-album, called an EP, titled Da Payback.
Joining No Limit Records
In 1995, Mia X signed with Master P's record label, No Limit Records. Master P found out about her when he asked about talented female rappers at a local music store. She became a solo artist on the label. She also joined Master P's group at the time, TRU. This helped her music become known across the country. Mia X was the very first female rapper to sign with No Limit Records. On November 21, 1995, she released her first album, Good Girl Gone Bad.
Popular Albums: Unlady Like and Mama Drama
In 1997, Mia X released a new song called "The Party Don't Stop." It featured Master P and Foxy Brown. On June 24, 1997, her second album, Unlady Like, came out. This album was very successful. It reached No. 21 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also hit No. 11 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album sold many copies and was certified gold in October 1997.
On October 27, 1998, Mia X released her third album, Mama Drama. This album was also very popular. It reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also climbed to No. 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
Later Music and Activities
After 1999, Mia X took a break from recording music for a while. During the early 2000s, she worked in real estate. She also helped other hip-hop artists write their songs.
After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, Mia X recorded "My FEMA People." This song shared her feelings about the difficult conditions in her city.
In 2008, Mia X appeared on C-Murder's album Screamin' 4 Vengeance. She was featured on two songs: "Mihita" and "Posted on tha Block." On June 13, 2014, she released a new song called "Mr. Right." It featured artist Ms. Tasha and was released through her own label, Mama Mia Muzic. On September 1, 2015, Mia X released another new song, "No More," featuring Caren Green. She also released a mixtape in 2010 called Unladylike Forever.
