Michał Pazdan (born on September 21, 1987) is a professional football player from Poland. He plays as a centre-back, which is a defensive position, for the II liga club Wieczysta Kraków. He is also the captain of his team.
Playing for Clubs
Michał Pazdan started his football journey at Hutnik Kraków. He worked his way up through the youth teams. By the 2003–04 season, he joined the club's main team.
In 2007, Pazdan moved to Górnik Zabrze. He played his first game in Poland's top league, Ekstraklasa, on September 14, 2007. This match was against Polonia Bytom. In his first season, he played 19 games, helping his team finish eighth.
On June 24, 2015, Pazdan joined Legia Warsaw, a very well-known Polish club. Later, on January 29, 2019, he signed a two-year contract with Ankaragücü in Turkey. After playing in Turkey, he returned to Jagiellonia Białystok and then joined Wieczysta Kraków.
Playing for Poland
Michał Pazdan played 38 games for the Polish national team. His first game was on December 15, 2007. It was a friendly match, which means it was not part of a tournament, against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Poland won that game 1–0. He was chosen for the Polish team for UEFA Euro 2008, but he did not play in any matches during that tournament.
During UEFA Euro 2016, Pazdan became a national hero. He played an amazing game against Germany, who were the World Champions at the time. He was named the Man of the match for his performance. This game ended in a draw, which helped Poland reach the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time ever. His great playing even made some big clubs from the Premier League interested in him. Poland then beat Switzerland in a penalty shootout to get into the quarter-finals.
In June 2018, he was selected to be part of Poland's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
