Michael Augustine's Life and Service
Michael Augustine was born in a place called Kovilanoor in Tamil Nadu, India. He dedicated his life to serving the Church. He spent 56 years as a priest. Later, he served for 39 years as a bishop and then as an archbishop.

From 1981 to 1992, Michael Augustine was the Bishop of Vellore. A bishop is a high-ranking leader in the Church. They are in charge of a specific area called a diocese.
