Michael Deshown Ford (born May 27, 1990) is a former American professional football player. He played as a running back. After not being chosen in the 2013 NFL draft, he joined the Chicago Bears. Before that, he played college football at LSU. Many thought he was one of the best running back players in his group.

Early Life and High School Football
Michael Ford grew up in Leesville, Louisiana. He was a star running back at Leesville High School. Experts like Rivals.com saw him as a top player. He was even ranked as the seventh-best running back in the country for his age group in 2009.
College Football Career
Michael Ford played college football for LSU. In 2012, he was very good at returning kickoffs. He averaged 27.5 yards on 20 returns. Four of his kickoff returns were for 40 yards or more. One amazing return was for 86 yards against Arkansas. This long return helped set up a touchdown for his team.
Ford played in 37 games during his college career. He started 5 of those games. He scored a total of 14 touchdowns. Thirteen of these were from running the ball, and one was from catching a pass.

Joining the NFL: The 2013 Draft
After his college career, Michael Ford showed off his skills for NFL teams. He was 5 feet 9.5 inches tall and weighed 210 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in a very fast 4.38 seconds. He also lifted 225 pounds 25 times, showing his strength.

Playing for the Chicago Bears
