He has written more than 160 books! Many of these were written with his wife, Katherine Applegate. They worked together on popular series like Animorphs and Everworld. Michael Grant also writes books all by himself. He is the author of the thrilling Gone series, the BZRK series, the Messenger of Fear series, and the Front Lines trilogy. His most popular book is Gone.

Michael Grant's Early Life

Michael Grant grew up in a military family. This meant he moved around a lot! He attended ten different schools in five states in the U.S., and even three schools in France.

He decided to become a writer partly because it was a job that didn't tie him down to one place. He has lived in almost 50 homes across 14 different states! Michael Grant has shared that he grew up without much money and lived in trailer parks. He left school when he was 15 years old.
