Michael Horse (born in 1949 as Michael James Heinrich) is an American actor who has appeared in many films and TV shows. He is also a talented painter and a jeweler. He is widely recognized for his role as Deputy Tommy 'Hawk' Hill in the popular TV series Twin Peaks.

Michael Horse's Early Life
Michael James Heinrich was born in Los Angeles County, California in 1949. Some records also mention his birthplace as Tucson, Arizona, or a town near Tucson. His parents were Nancie Bellen Posten and George Heinrich.
Michael Horse describes himself as having a mixed heritage. He says he is part Zuni, Mescalero, Yaqui, and Hispanic, with some Swedish background. He has mentioned that he belongs to "three nations" and knows his identity, even if it's made up of different parts.
Michael Horse's Acting Career
Michael Horse started his acting career in 1981. His first movie role was playing Tonto in the film The Legend of the Lone Ranger. He was a bit worried about playing the character, hoping it wouldn't be seen as a simple stereotype.
After appearing in a short film by David Lynch called The Cowboy and the Frenchman in 1988, Michael Horse got a big role. He played Deputy Hawk, a police officer, in Lynch's famous TV series Twin Peaks from 1990 to 1991. He returned to this role in the third season of Twin Peaks in 2017.
He also acted in several other movies, including Passenger 57 (1992) and House of Cards (1993). On television, he appeared in the 1990s version of The Untouchables (1993) and North of 60 (1995–1997). In 1999, he played Squanto in an episode of the TV series Thanks. He also had a role as Deputy Owen Blackwood in four episodes of Roswell in 1999.
Michael Horse also appeared in an episode of The X-Files called "Shapes" in 1994. In 1999, he was a guest star on Walker, Texas Ranger. He played John Red Cloud, who owned a Native American NASCAR racing team and was a friend of the main character, Texas Ranger Cordell Walker (Chuck Norris).
In 1994, Michael Horse played American Indian Movement (AIM) activist Dennis Banks in the film Lakota Woman: Siege at Wounded Knee. He also lent his voice to a character in the animated movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron in 2002. He played Mike Proudfoot on the TV show Sons of Tucson. In 1995, he appeared as Dirty Bob in the Western film Riders in the Storm. He also played Jindoga in the TV series Hawkeye. More recently, in 2020, he portrayed Twamie Ullulaq in the seventh season of The Blacklist. In 2020, he also appeared in the film The Call of the Wild.
