Michael Jerome's Music Journey
Michael Jerome has been a part of many bands. Early in his career, he played with groups like Pop Poppins from 1989 to 1997. He was also with the Toadies for a short time in the early 1990s. Later, he joined Course of Empire and James Hall's band, Pleasure Club.
He also played on an album called Sanctuary for Charlie Musselwhite in 2004. Michael has toured and recorded with many other artists too. These include the Blind Boys of Alabama, John Cale, and Tom Freund.
Joining Better Than Ezra
In 2009, Michael Jerome joined the band Better Than Ezra. Their previous drummer, Travis McNabb, had left to play with another band. Michael became the new drummer for Better Than Ezra. His first album with the band was Paper Empire, released in 2009. He also played on their 2014 album, All Together Now.
Working with Richard Thompson and John Cale
Michael Jerome has also toured with famous musicians like Richard Thompson and John Cale. He recorded four albums with John Cale. These albums include blackAcetate (2005) and Shifty Adventures in Nookie Wood (2012).
Halls Of The Machine
Michael Jerome is also a co-founder of a music trio called Halls Of The Machine. The other members are Mike Graff, who plays guitars, and Van Eric Martin, who plays piano. Their first album, "Atmospheres For Lovers And Sleepers," came out in 2001. They released their second album, "Calling All Tribal Dignitaries," in 2017.
In 2015, one of their songs, "Bono X," was released worldwide. It was part of a music collection called "I.C. - Independent Celebration, Vol. 1."
Personal Life
Michael Jerome is a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a professional American football team. He lives in Los Angeles, California.
