High School Basketball Success
Michael Lee played basketball at Jefferson High School in Portland, Oregon. His team, the Jefferson Democrats, had an amazing year in 2000. They won the 4A Oregon state championship. They beat Tualatin with a score of 58–44. This victory completed a perfect season for them, with 28 wins and no losses.
The Jefferson Democrats were ranked as the No. 4 high school team in the entire country that year. Several of Michael's teammates also went on to play college basketball. These players included Aaron Miles, Thomas Gardner, and Brandon Brooks.
