Michael Wasson (born 1990) is an American Nimíipuu poet. He comes from the town of Lenore, Idaho, which is on the Nez Perce Reservation. He currently lives in Fukuoka, Japan.
About Michael Wasson's Journey
Michael Wasson grew up on the Nez Perce reservation in Idaho. He often shares that the land, his elders, and their stories and language greatly influenced his writing. He studied literature, creative writing, and his native Nez Perce language, Nimipuutímt, at Lewis-Clark State College. Later, he earned a special degree in creative writing from Oregon State University. While studying, he also taught writing classes.
He has also taught literature, writing, and English in Tokyo, Japan. Since 2014, he has lived in Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu, in Japan. There, he works as an English and English conversation teacher.

Michael Wasson's work has been featured in a collection of short creative writing pieces. This collection is used to teach poetry and short stories. His first book, called This American Ghost, explores many different topics. These include ancient Greek literature, the effects of colonialism, and the cultural experiences of the Nez Perce people.
