Michelle Denise Greenidge (born 15 June 1969) is a British actress. She is famous for her roles in popular TV shows. Many people know her as Valerie in the Netflix series After Life. She also plays Lola in the BBC Two comedy Mandy.
Greenidge has appeared in many other well-known shows. She was PC Williams in the comedy Code 404 and Rosa Babatunde in the drama It's a Sin. Since 2023, she has played Carla Sunday in the science-fiction series Doctor Who. In 2024, she also joined the cast of the radio show The Archers.

Life and Career
Early Life and First Roles
Michelle Greenidge was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Her family has Jamaican roots. Before she became a full-time actress, she worked for a local government office in Southwark, London, for 20 years.
She started her acting career in 2009 with a part in a short film called Leave. After that, she appeared in several other short films and TV shows. In 2015, she had a role in the comedy-drama Venus vs. Mars. Her first role in a major movie was in the 2016 crime film The Intent. She returned for the sequel, The Intent 2: The Come Up, in 2018.
Breakthrough on Television
In 2019, Greenidge got the role of Valerie in the Netflix show After Life. Valerie is a funny and kind receptionist, and Greenidge played her in all three series of the show. This role made her much more famous.
Starting in 2020, she began playing Lola in the BBC Two comedy Mandy. Lola is the best friend of the main character, Mandy. In the same year, she appeared in the police comedy Code 404 and the historical film Mangrove.
In 2021, she played Rosa Babatunde in the popular drama series It's a Sin. She has also had guest roles in shows like Doctors and Casualty.
Joining Doctor Who
In January 2023, it was announced that Greenidge would be in the famous science-fiction show Doctor Who. She plays the character Carla Sunday, the mother of the Doctor's companion, Ruby Sunday. Her role in such a major series was very exciting news for her fans.
