A post office was opened in Daisie in 1881. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages. It stayed open for many years, until 1904.
Later, the community's name was changed to Middlebury. This new name describes its location very well! Middlebury is located pretty much in the middle between Van Wert and Decatur.
