Miguel Artola Gallego (born July 12, 1923 – died May 26, 2020) was a very smart Spanish historian. He was born in San Sebastián, a city in Spain. He passed away in Madrid when he was 96 years old.

Miguel Artola Gallego was chosen to be a member of the Real Academia de la Historia, which is a very important group of historians in Spain. He became member number 34 on March 20, 1981, and officially joined on May 2, 1982.

  • In 1996, he was awarded the Grand Cross in the Civil Order of Alfonso X, the Wise. This is a high honor from the Spanish government.
