Miguel Eduardo Olivo Peña (born July 15, 1978) is a former professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for many teams. His career in MLB lasted from 2002 to 2014. After that, he also played in the Mexican League until 2017.

Early Career with the Oakland Athletics
Olivo started his baseball journey in 1996. He was signed by the Oakland Athletics as a free agent. He spent his first few years playing in their minor league system. This is where he developed his skills.
Joining the Chicago White Sox
In 2000, Olivo was traded to the Chicago White Sox. He made his big league debut with them on September 15, 2002. In his very first Major League at-bat, he hit a home run! This was a great way to start his career. He played as a backup catcher for the White Sox for about two years.

Brief Stints with Other Teams
After leaving the Mariners, Olivo had short stays with a few other teams. He signed a minor league deal with the Cincinnati Reds in 2013. However, he asked to be released before the season started.
He then signed with the Miami Marlins for a second time in 2013. He played for them for a short period.
Final MLB Team: Los Angeles Dodgers
In 2014, Olivo signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played 8 games with them in MLB. He also played for their Triple-A team, the Albuquerque Isotopes. He was released from the Dodgers organization in May 2014.

After his time in MLB, Olivo continued his career in the Mexican League. He played for the Toros de Tijuana starting in 2014. He played well there for a few seasons. In 2015, he hit 14 home runs and stole 13 bases.
He also had a brief time with the San Francisco Giants minor league system in 2016. He played for the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats. His last team was the Bravos de León in the Mexican League in 2017. He retired from professional baseball after that season.
