Mihaela's Music Journey
Starting with X Factor
X Factor Bulgaria: Season 2 (2013)
Mihaela first joined X Factor Bulgaria when she was 15 years old. She made it to the "judges' houses" round. Her mentor, Zaki, had to choose between Mihaela and another contestant, Ana-Maria Yanakieva, because they were both 15 and the show had an age limit of 16. Zaki chose Ana-Maria but gave Mihaela a special "golden ticket." This ticket meant she could start from the judges' houses in the next season of the show.
X Factor Bulgaria: Season 3 (2014–2015)
Even though Mihaela had a guaranteed spot in the judges' houses for the next season, she decided not to use it. She wanted to start from the very beginning, just like everyone else, by going through the auditions. She felt it wouldn't be fair otherwise. This time, she made it all the way to the finals and finished in third place. The winner of that season was Slavin Slavchev. In the final show, Mihaela even performed a duet with James Arthur, who had won The X Factor UK in 2012.
First Songs and Big Success
After her time on X Factor Bulgaria, Mihaela Marinova signed with Virginia Records. In the summer of 2015, she released her very first song, "Stapka Napred" (Step Forward). This song quickly became number one on the charts in Bulgaria and gained over a million views on YouTube.
In 2019, Mihaela took part in the Bulgarian version of "The Masked Singer." She performed as "Garvanat" (The Raven) and won the competition! She also participated in the Bulgarian show "Tu cara me suena," where celebrities imitate famous singers.
