Michael Andrew Fisher (born June 5, 1980) is a Canadian-American former professional ice hockey player. He played as a centre in the National Hockey League (NHL). A centre is a forward who plays in the middle of the ice. Fisher was known for his strong defensive skills and leadership. He played for the Ottawa Senators and the Nashville Predators during his career.

Starting His NHL Career
In 1998, Mike Fisher was drafted by the Ottawa Senators. This means the Senators team chose him to join their organization. He was the 44th player picked overall in that year's draft. He officially started his professional career in 1999.
A Decade with the Ottawa Senators
Fisher spent ten seasons playing for the Ottawa Senators. He was a very important player for the team. Over time, his leadership skills grew. He was even named an assistant captain for the Senators.
