Michael P. Reese (born March 7, 1978 – died January 2, 2021) was an American politician. A politician is someone who works in government. Mike Reese was a member of the Republican Party. He served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 until he passed away in 2021. The House of Representatives is a group of elected people who make laws for the state. Reese was also a leader for the Republican group in the Pennsylvania House. He was the secretary for the 2019–2020 session. He was chosen to be the chairman for 2021, but he died before he could start.
Mike Reese's Career
Before he was elected to the House of Representatives, Mike Reese worked at a few different places. He worked in the admissions office at the University of Pittsburgh in Greensburg. This office helps students apply to the university.
He also worked at Westmoreland County Community College. There, he was a teacher in the business department. Just before he became a state representative, Reese helped manage money for Westmoreland County. He was the Assistant Director of Financial Administration.
His Early Life and Passing
Michael Reese was born on March 7, 1978, in Mount Pleasant Township. He went to Mount Pleasant Area High School. After high school, he studied at Duquesne University. He earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education with a focus on history. Later, in 2004, Reese earned a master's degree in business administration from Seton Hill University.
In December 2020, Mike Reese became sick with COVID-19. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic in Pennsylvania. He passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 42. He died from what doctors believed was a brain aneurysm at a hospital in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. A brain aneurysm is a weak spot in a blood vessel in the brain that can burst.
