James Michael White (born August 11, 1957) is an American college football coach and former professional player. He was a head football coach at Albany State University (ASU) in Albany, Georgia from 2000 to 2014. He also coached at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina from 2015 to 2019. White played college football as a defensive tackle at Albany State in the late 1970s. He was later chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1979 NFL draft. He also played for the Seattle Seahawks.

Mike White's Coaching Journey
After his time as a player, Mike White started his coaching career. In 1984, he joined the coaching staff at his old college, Albany State. He began as the defensive line coach.
Rising Through the Ranks
White quickly moved up in his coaching career. In 1989, he became the defensive coordinator. This meant he was in charge of the team's defense. By 1997, he was named the assistant head coach.
Leading the Albany State Golden Rams
In 2000, Mike White became the head coach of the Albany State Golden Rams. He continued to oversee the defense even as head coach. His team had great success. In 2010, his Albany State team was named the SBN Black College National Champions. He was also named the SIAC Coach of The Year six times during his time at Albany State. His overall record at Albany State was 112 wins and 51 losses.
Coaching at Benedict College
On December 18, 2014, White took on a new challenge. He was named the head football coach at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. He coached the Benedict Tigers until 2019. His overall coaching record at Benedict was 19 wins and 30 losses.
