Michael Wilson (born September 15, 1959) is a former American basketball player. He played as a point guard and shooting guard. Wilson was known for his skills in college and later played for several teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).

College Basketball Career
Michael Wilson played college basketball for Marquette University. He was part of the Marquette team from 1978 to 1982. During his time there, he played in 119 games.
Wilson was a strong all-around player. He averaged about 10.9 points per game. He also helped his team with 3.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. He was good at stealing the ball, averaging 2.3 steals per game.
He was chosen as the team captain for two seasons. These were the 1980–81 and 1981–82 seasons. In his final year at Marquette, he was the team's top scorer. He averaged 16.1 points in that season.
Professional Basketball
After college, Michael Wilson began his professional basketball career. He was picked in the 1982 NBA draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers chose him in the third round. He was the 47th player picked overall.
NBA Teams
Wilson played for a few teams in the NBA. His first NBA team was the Washington Bullets in 1983. He also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1984. Later, he joined the New Jersey Nets for parts of the 1984–85 and 1986–87 seasons. He also played for the Atlanta Hawks during the 1986–87 season.
