Millerstown, Champaign County, Ohio facts for kids
Millerstown is a small community in Ohio, United States. It's not an official town or city, but a quiet place in Champaign County. You can find it in the eastern part of Johnson Township.
The community is located where Heck Hill, Ward, and Zimmerman Roads meet. It's about 2.5 miles (4 km) north of U.S. Route 36. A small stream called Nettle Creek flows near Millerstown. This creek is a tributary (a smaller stream that flows into a larger one) of the Mad River.
Millerstown is about 4 miles (6.5 km) northeast of the city of St. Paris. It's also about 10 miles (16 km) west-northwest of Urbana. Urbana is the county seat of Champaign County, which means it's the main town where the county government is located.
History of Millerstown
Millerstown was officially mapped out in 1837. This means its streets and lots were planned and recorded. The community got its name from an early landowner named Casper Miller.
A post office was opened in Millerstown in 1838. This allowed people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. However, it closed down in 1903.
