Champaign County is a place in Ohio, a state in the United States. In 2020, about 38,714 people lived here. The main city and where the county government is located is Urbana.
The name 'Champaign' comes from a French word. It means "open, flat land." Champaign County became Ohio's 18th county on March 1, 1805. It was created from parts of Greene and Franklin counties. The county is part of the Urbana Micropolitan Area. This area is also connected to the larger Dayton–Springfield–Sidney region.
