History of Mutual Village
Mutual was first planned out in the 1840s. This means people started to design and build the community. Later, in 1869, it officially became a village. This gave Mutual its own local government.

Mutual is easy to find because it sits right where two main roads meet: State Route 29 and State Route 161.
Nearby Natural Features
A stream called Buck Creek is close by, flowing about 1 mile (1½ km) west of the village. Buck Creek is a smaller stream that flows into the Mad River.
