Millersville is a small town, also called a borough, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2020, about 7,629 people lived here. Millersville is famous for being home to Millersville University of Pennsylvania.

Millersville's Past

Millersville started as a farm area owned by John Miller. It was first known as Millerstown. This spot was a busy meeting place for farmers. They brought their goods to sell here before taking them to Lancaster City.

Later, the town's name changed to "Millersville." It became its own separate borough in Lancaster County. Millersville is special because it had the first school for teachers in Pennsylvania. This school opened in 1854. In 1855, it became a state normal school, which is a college for training teachers. Today, it is known as Millersville University of Pennsylvania. This university is part of the state's higher education system.

Millersville is located about 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Lancaster. Lancaster is the main city of the county.
