Millington Green
The heart of the village is the Millington Green. This is a small, triangular park right in the middle of Millington. It's where Millington, Haywardville, and Tater Hill roads meet. The Green has a flagpole, a bench, and a pretty flower garden.
Historic Homes Around the Green
Several old and interesting houses surround the Millington Green. These homes tell stories of the past:
- The Daniel Bulkeley House was built way back in 1792.
- The 10th District Schoolhouse was built in 1854.
- The Millington Green Parsonage also dates back to 1854.

Village History
Millington has a long and interesting history. It was first settled in 1704 by a person named Jonathan Beebe from New London.
Early Community Life
In 1733, the people of Millington were allowed to form their own church community. This was separate from the main town of Haddam at the time. The first church, called a congregational church, was started in 1736. A meetinghouse, which was like a church building, was built on the Green in 1740.
Revolutionary War Role
During the American Revolutionary War, Millington became an important place. It was used as a training area for the local militia. These were groups of citizens who trained to be soldiers.
Modern Millington
After the War of 1812, the village faced tough times. It never fully recovered from an economic downturn. Today, Millington is a quiet, rural neighborhood. It's mostly a place where people live, surrounded by nature.
