Millsap is a small town located in Parker County, Texas, in the United States. In 2020, about 370 people lived there. It's known for its quiet, rural feel.

History of Millsap

Millsap started as a stop for stagecoaches traveling between Weatherford and Palo Pinto. The town was named after Fuller Millsap, who moved to Texas in 1849. Millsap got its own post office in 1877.

In 1880, the Texas and Pacific Railway built tracks through Millsap. This helped the town grow a lot. By the 1890s, Millsap was an important place for local farmers to buy and sell goods.

Within ten years, the town had a bank and many other businesses. It also had three churches and a school called Millsap College. A weekly newspaper, the Millsap News, was also printed there. The number of people living in Millsap grew from about 100 in 1890 to 800 in 1920.

After World War II, the town's population started to decrease. By 1968, only 261 people lived there. The population went up a bit to 485 in 1990, but then dropped to 353 by 2000.

Geography and Climate

Millsap is located on Farm to Market Road 113. It is about 15 miles west of Weatherford, in the western part of Parker County. The town covers an area of about 1.3 square miles (3.8 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small part covered by water.
