Milton Patton grew up in a town called Forrest City, Arkansas. When he was young, he listened to many different kinds of music. These included gospel, R&B, hip hop, and even some jazz.
His dad had a business where he cleaned cars. At this business, his father often played country music. This is how Milton first started listening to country songs. Some stories in his family say that he is related to Charlie Patton. Charlie Patton was a very famous musician known as the "Father of the Delta Blues".
Milton Patton's Music Career
Milton Patton became famous in 2013. This was when he tried out for the eighth season of America's Got Talent. For his audition, he sang a popular country song. His performance really impressed the judges and the audience.
After his TV appearance, a big record company offered him a lot of money. They wanted to sign him to a record deal worth $500,000! However, the music bosses wanted him to change his style. They wanted him to be more of an R&B and hip-hop country artist. Milton felt a strong connection to traditional country music. Because of this, he decided to turn down the big offer. He wanted to stay true to his own country sound.
By 2016, Milton Patton released his first song. It was called "Get Us in Trouble". In September of that same year, he was performing live. He played at Jimmy Doyle's Country Club in North Little Rock.
