About the Story
Mimmi and Roberta's Adventure
The story takes place in the autumn. We meet Mimmi, who is seven and a half years old. Her friend is Roberta Karlsson, who is nine. They become curious about Enok, a man who runs a shoe store.
The girls start to think Enok might be hiding something. They decide to follow him one day.
Following Enok
Mimmi and Roberta watch Enok as he walks. He goes along a path that leads to a clearing in the forest. In this quiet spot, Enok likes to go fishing in a small mountain lake.
While he is fishing, Enok notices the two girls. They start talking to him. After their chat, Enok heads back to his shoe store.
A Surprising Discovery
Later, Mimmi and Roberta decide to sneak into Enok's shoe store. They hide inside, hoping to find out more about him. Suddenly, Enok turns on the lights. He discovers the girls hiding there.
It turns out Enok is not mysterious or "up to something" at all. He is a kind man. He soon becomes like a grandfather figure to both Mimmi and Roberta.
