The Mimmi series (called Mimmiserien in Swedish) is a popular collection of children's books. They were written by Viveca Lärn, a famous Swedish author. The main character is a girl named Mimmi. The stories follow her as she grows up, from late kindergarten to early primary school age.
Many of the books are written like Mimmi's own diary. This means you get to read her thoughts and feelings directly. It's like she's telling you her story herself! The books were first published between 1979 and 1996.
Mimmi lives with her family in a town called Kungälv in Sweden. Her dad, Oskar, works as a postman. Her mom, Elin, is a waitress at a restaurant called "Gyllene Svanen."
The Mimmi books became so popular that they were made into TV shows! Two different television series were created based on the books. The first one was called En ettas dagbok and came out in 1985. The second show was simply called Mimmi and aired in 1988.
