Mine Blower at RCDB |
Mine Blower is an exciting wooden roller coaster found at Fun Spot America Kissimmee in Kissimmee, Florida. It was built by a company called The Gravity Group. This roller coaster is special because it's one of only three wooden coasters in all of Florida! The others are White Lightning at Fun Spot America Orlando and Coastersaurus at Legoland Florida. Mine Blower has cool features like a zero-gravity roll (where you feel weightless!) right over the station, and a super-steep overbanked turn that's tilted at 115 degrees.

Building Mine Blower: A Quick History
Have you ever wondered how a roller coaster gets built? In December 2016, people started guessing that Fun Spot America Kissimmee was planning a huge new roller coaster. It was going to cost about $6 million!
Announcing the Name
The name of this new ride, Mine Blower, was officially announced on February 5, 2017. This big reveal happened during the 2017 Super Bowl!
Construction Begins
By May 2017, parts of the roller coaster started to appear during construction. Everyone could see exciting elements like the 115-degree overbanked turn taking shape.
Grand Opening Day
On June 15, 2017, Fun Spot America announced that Mine Blower would open very soon. Just eight days later, on June 23, the roller coaster opened to the public. Thrill-seekers could finally experience the ride!
What's the Ride Like?
Get ready for a wild ride on Mine Blower!
Starting the Adventure
The journey begins with a gentle 180-degree turn to the left. This turn leads you straight to the lift hill. It takes about 23 seconds to slowly climb to the top.
The Big Drop and Inversion
Once you reach the top, the train makes another 180-degree turn to the left. Then, you plunge down over 80 feet! Right after the drop, you go through the only inversion on the ride: a corkscrew. This is where the track twists you upside down!
Twists, Turns, and Airtime
After the corkscrew, the ride speeds into many high-speed turns. You'll go over an airtime hill, where you feel like you're floating. This is followed by a "double down," which is like two small drops close together. You'll pass another small hill and then go into a right-hand turn.
More small hills follow, leading to the exciting 115-degree overbanked turn to the right. This turn is super tilted! A few more curvy airtime hills send the train towards a low, left-hand turn. Finally, you go over two more hills before reaching the brake run, where the ride slows down.
Special Features
Mine Blower is one of only eight wooden roller coasters in the world that have at least one inversion. This makes it quite unique!
How Mine Blower is Built
Mine Blower has some interesting features that make it special.
Strong Support Structure
Even though Mine Blower is a wooden roller coaster, it's built with a strong steel support structure. This makes it very sturdy. Other roller coasters built by The Gravity Group, like Oscar's Wacky Taxi and Switchback, also use similar steel supports.
Cool Trains
Mine Blower uses two special trains called "Timberliner" trains. Each train can hold 12 passengers. The front of each train looks really cool, with designs of fireworks and dynamite!
Fast Facts and Statistics
Mine Blower is 2,290 feet (700 m) long, which is about 698 meters. It stands 83 feet (25 m) tall, or about 25 meters. The ride reaches a top speed of 48.5 mph (78 km/h). This makes Mine Blower the longest, tallest, and fastest of the three wooden roller coasters currently operating in Florida.
