Mineville-Witherbee was a special area in New York. It was called a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it was a community that the government counted for population, but it wasn't officially a city or town.
It was located in the town of Moriah in Essex County. In the year 2000, about 1,747 people lived there. Later, for the 2010 census, this area was split into two separate CDPs. These new areas are called Mineville and Witherbee. Mineville was named after the iron ore mines that used to be very important there.

The Witherbee Memorial Hall is an important building in the area. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. This means it's a special place recognized for its history.

The community was mainly found between County Roads 7 and 70. It was also near where County Road 6 meets them.

- Johnny Podres was a professional baseball player. He was a pitcher in Major League Baseball and was born in Witherbee.
