The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (日本科学未来館, Nippon Kagaku Mirai-kan), often called the Miraikan (未来館, literally "Future Museum"), is an exciting science museum in Japan. It was created by the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
The Miraikan opened its doors in 2001. You can find it in the Odaiba area of Tokyo. It's easy to get there by a special driverless train called the Yurikamome system, which takes about 20 minutes from downtown Tokyo.

Explore the Frontiers: Understanding Our World
The "Explore the frontiers" area helps you understand how our world is built. It looks at everything from the tiny parts of life to the huge Solar System and the entire universe. You can learn about the universe's 13.8 billion-year history. This section also explores how humans began and how we live and interact with the world around us. By looking at things scientifically, you can think about the best path for our future.
Create Your Future: Science for a Better World
The "Create your future" area shows what good societies and lifestyles could look like. It helps you think about how we can achieve them. This part of the museum asks: "What science and technology do we need?" It also explores "How should we use it to build a society that can support over eight billion people?" This exhibit helps you imagine a future society and search for new knowledge.
Demonstrations by the famous humanoid robot ASIMO ended on March 31st, 2022.
Geo-Cosmos: Our Amazing Earth in Space
The Geo-Cosmos is the main exhibit at the Miraikan. It's a giant globe that shows a realistic picture of Earth shining in space. It has over 10 million pixels, making the image incredibly clear. The Geo-Cosmos was updated with the newest LED panels. These panels make the Earth look even more real and vibrant. They use HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology and a wider range of colors. This creates richer, deeper colors and brighter light.
Special Exhibitions: Fun and Learning
Every year, the Miraikan creates two or three special exhibitions. These shows often mix science with art. They cover many different topics, from "The NINJA - who were they?" to "Detective Conan: Scientific Investigation" and "You and Robots - What is it to be Human?". In 2012, a special exhibition called "The Story of the End of the World: 73 Questions We Must Answer" talked about the Tohoku earthquake and what happened afterward.
