Mireia Boya Busquet (born in 1979) is a scientist, activist, and politician from Spain. She is a councilor in the town of Les in the Aran region. Since February 2018, she has been part of the national leadership team for the Popular Unity Candidacy (CUP) political party. She was also a member of the Catalan Parliament from 2016 to 2017.

About Mireia Boya Busquet
Mireia Boya Busquet was born in 1979. Her mother, Maria Pilar Busquets, was also a politician. Mireia studied Environmental Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She earned her degree in 2002.
She also completed a master's degree in Landscape Design in 2004. Later, she received a PhD in Land Management and Planning in 2009. Both of these advanced degrees were from the Université de Montréal in Canada.
In her professional life, Mireia works as a consultant. She is also an adjunct lecturer, which means she teaches part-time, at the Humanities Department of Pompeu Fabra University.
Mireia Boya Busquet has actively worked to recognize the Occitan identity of the Valley of Aran. She was the first person in the Catalan Parliament to speak using the Aranese dialect. Her brother, Jusèp Boya Busquet

Mireia Boya is one of the people who started the Assemblea Nacional Catalana in Val d'Aran. She used to be its coordinator. She is also a councilor in the town of Les for the Corròp party. This party supports Occitan nationalism.
In the 2015 elections for the Parliament of Catalonia, she ran as a candidate for the CUP party. She was second on the list for the Lleida area. She was not elected at first.
However, in December 2015, the person who was first on the list resigned. This allowed Mireia Boya to become a regional parliament member. She took part in important meetings in the Parliament. She voted on plans for Catalonia's independence.
In February 2018, Mireia was chosen to be a member of the CUP National Secretariat. She was an independent candidate and received 662 votes.
Understanding Occitan Nationalism
Mireia Boya is a strong supporter of the Occitan nation. She believes in a country that has "two languages of its own." She also thinks this country should look "to the north, to Occitania." This means she supports the idea of Occitan culture and identity.
