Miriama Te Rangimarie Smith, born on June 3, 1976, is a talented actress from New Zealand. She has starred in many popular TV shows and movies. Some of her most well-known roles include Moz in The Tribe, Dana McNichol in Mercy Peak, and Elsa/Principal Randall in the 2004 Power Rangers series, Power Rangers Dino Thunder. Miriama was also one of the judges on the first season of New Zealand's Got Talent in 2008. Later, she played Brady Trubridge in the TV drama Filthy Rich.
Miriama's Acting Journey
Miriama Smith was born in Rotorua, a city in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand. She is part of the Te Arawa Māori tribe.
Miriama began her acting career when she was a teenager. She appeared in several commercials and had a small role in an episode of the TV show Shark in the Park. In 2001, she acted in the movie The Other Side of Heaven. She then played Elsa / Principal Randall in Power Rangers Dino Thunder in 2004. This popular show was filmed in New Zealand.
In 2005, Miriama starred in the Australian TV show Last Man Standing. She also appeared in the 2013 movie Mt. Zion, which was very successful at the box office. From February 26 to March 2, 2014, she performed in a play called Paniora! at the Soundings Theatre in Te Papa.
In 2016, Miriama hosted Finding Aroha on Māori Television. The next year, she starred in the New Zealand show Filthy Rich. In 2018, it was announced that she would be in a TV series based on the New Zealand movie The Dead Lands. Also in 2018, she became the voice for the Māori language announcements on Auckland's train system. She returned for the sequel The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith, which came out in 2019.
