Mis-Teeq was a popular English girl group known for their R&B and UK garage music. The group was active from 1999 to 2005. Its main members were lead singer Sabrina Washington, rapper Alesha Dixon, and backing vocalist Su-Elise Nash.
A fourth member, Zena McNally, was part of the group for a short time. She sang on their very first song, "Why." Zena left the group soon after to start her own solo music career.
Mis-Teeq's Music Journey
Mis-Teeq released two main studio albums during their career. These were Lickin' on Both Sides in 2001 and Eye Candy in 2003.
In 2004, they released a special album in the United States called Mis-Teeq. This album featured popular songs from their first two albums. The group also released a Greatest Hits album in 2005.
Why the Group Ended
Mis-Teeq broke up in 2005. This happened because their record label, the company that released their music, went out of business. All of the songs they released as singles were very popular. Every one of their singles reached the top 40 on the music charts in the UK.
Talk of a Comeback
After the group broke up in 2005, there were often rumors about them getting back together. People wondered if they would release new music or go on tour.
In 2011, there were reports that the group was planning a comeback tour. However, Alesha Dixon, one of the members, said this was not true. A couple of years later, Dixon mentioned that she would not completely rule out a reunion in the future.
