Mischa de Vreede (born September 17, 1936 – died May 12, 2020) was a talented Dutch poet and writer. She was born in Batavia, which is now part of Indonesia. She began her writing journey early, publishing her first collection of poems called Morgen mooi weer maken in 1957.

Mischa de Vreede was a well-known writer in the Netherlands. She wrote many different kinds of texts, from poems to novels and even travel stories.

Early Success and Awards

In 1959, Mischa de Vreede received a special award called the Herman Gorterprijs. This prize was given to her for her beautiful poem titled Een jong meisje droomt (A Young Girl Dreams). This award showed how much her early work was appreciated.

A Busy Writer

Mischa de Vreede was very active in the world of writing. She wrote regular articles, known as columns, for VARA radio. She also reviewed children's books for a newspaper called NRC Handelsblad. This meant she read many new books and shared her thoughts on them.
