Miss International is a major beauty pageant held each year. It is also known as Miss International Beauty or The International Beauty Pageant. The International Culture Association in Japan organizes this event. It started in 1960.
Miss International is one of the four biggest beauty pageants in the world. These are called the Big Four beauty pageants. The other three are Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth. The Mikimoto pearl company makes the special crown used by the winner.
The pageant was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current Miss International is Andrea Rubio from Venezuela. She won the title on October 26, 2023, in Tokyo, Japan.

History of the Pageant
The Miss International pageant began in Long Beach, California, United States, in 1960. It started after the Miss Universe pageant moved to Miami Beach. Long Beach hosted the event until 1967.
From 1968 to 1970, the pageant moved to Japan. It was held in the same city as the Expo '70. In 1971, it returned to Long Beach. Since then, Japan has been the main host country. The event usually takes place in autumn, in October or November.
The first winner of Miss International in 1960 was Stella Araneta from Colombia. The pageant's goal is to help women live with a positive attitude. It also aims to show their inner strength and unique qualities. The slogan is "Cheer All Women." It also promotes "world peace through mutual understanding."
In 2012, Ikumi Yoshimatsu from Japan won the title. However, she was not able to crown her successor. This was due to a conflict with a talent agency. Instead, Miss International 2008, Alejandra Andreu, crowned Bea Santiago from the Philippines as Miss International 2013.
In 2017, Kevin Lilliana Junaedy from Indonesia made history. She became the first Muslim woman to win the Miss International title. The pageant was canceled in 2020 and 2021. This was because of the COVID-19 pandemic and Japan's rules on international events.
