Miss Thailand (Thai: นางสาวไทย; RTGS: Nang Sao Thai) is a famous beauty pageant held in Thailand for young Thai women. It first started on December 10, 1934, in Phra Nakhon District of Bangkok. Back then, it was called Miss Siam (Thai: นางสาวสยาม; RTGS: Nang Sao Sayam).

Since 2023, the winner of Miss Thailand gets to represent her country at the Miss Global competition. In the past, Miss Thailand winners used to compete at Miss Universe. The last Miss Thailand to go to Miss Universe was Apisamai Srirangsan in 1999.

In 2019, Sireethorn Leearamwat, who was Miss Thailand 2019, made history by winning the Miss International 2019 title. This was the first time Thailand won that competition!

The current Miss Thailand for 2024 is Panida Kernjinda from Chiang Mai.

Watching the Show

The Miss Thailand pageant has been shown on different TV channels over the years.

• It was on BBTV (channel 7) until 2000.
• Then it moved to ITV, which later became TITV and TPBS, until 2007.
• From 2008 to 2014, you could watch it on MCOT.
• In 2016 and from 2020 until now, the pageant is back on BBTV (channel 7).
• In 2019, it was shown on MCOT again.

• Two Miss Universe crowns:

  • Porntip Nakhirunkanok won in 1988.
