The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience (also called The MAX) is an art museum that opened on April 28, 2018. It is located in downtown Meridian, Mississippi, United States. This museum cost 50 million dollars to build. It shows off artists from Mississippi and celebrates people who have made big contributions to art and entertainment.
The MAX opened during Mississippi's 200th birthday celebration. Its main goal is to teach people about famous artists and entertainers. It does this through fun, interactive exhibits. These exhibits use sights, sounds, and hands-on activities to entertain and inform visitors. The MAX building is modern and has two levels. It covers 58,500 square feet of space.

Discover The MAX Museum
The museum's exhibits are set up around six main ideas. These themes are Land, Community, Home, Church, People + Places, and Global Community. Inside these themes, there are 15 permanent galleries. There are also two special areas for exhibits that change over time.
What You'll See and Hear
You can listen to audio stories and watch videos. These tell you about Mississippians who have influenced art and creativity worldwide. The museum also has a special Hall of Fame for Mississippi artists and entertainers.
Fun Spaces to Explore
Other cool parts of The MAX include a museum shop where you can buy souvenirs. There's also a recording studio where you can learn about music. You can even find art studios for drawing and painting (2D art). There's also a studio for making things like pottery (3D art). The museum has a multi-purpose gallery for different events. Outside, you'll find an amphitheater for performances. There's also a terrace on the second floor and a courtyard.
Walk of Fame
The MAX has a special "Walk of Fame" just like in Hollywood! It was first started in 2009. This walk goes from the nearby Mississippi State University Riley Center all the way to The MAX.
Honoring Mississippi Legends
New stars will be added to the Walk of Fame. They will join other famous people from Mississippi. Some of these legends include Elvis Presley, Jimmie Rodgers, and B.B. King. You can also find stars for William Faulkner, Morgan Freeman, Walter Inglis Anderson, Hartley Peavey, and Sela Ward.
