Misterjaw is a fun cartoon TV show that first aired in 1976. It has 34 episodes and was made by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises. You could watch it as part of The Pink Panther Laugh and a Half Hour and a Half Show on the NBC channel.

Meet Misterjaw and Friends

Misterjaw is a blue great white shark who loves to surprise people! He wears a fancy purple vest, a white collar, a black bow tie, and a black top hat. When he pops out of the water, he often shouts "HEEGotcha!" or "Gotcha!" This usually makes people run away in a hurry.

Misterjaw speaks with a German accent. Sometimes, he says words a bit funny, like "ka-nucklehead" instead of "knucklehead."

Misterjaw's Sidekick

Misterjaw has a green-scaled sidekick named Catfish. Catfish wears a brown bowler hat and speaks with a Brooklyn accent. He often calls Misterjaw "Boss" or "Chief."

When Misterjaw is in a good mood, he calls Catfish "pal-ly," "fella," or "sonny." But if he gets annoyed, he might call him "dumbkoff," "ka-nucklehead," or "macaroni brain." Sometimes, Misterjaw even accidentally calls him "Dogfish" before quickly correcting himself to "Catfish."

Their Main Goal

Misterjaw and Catfish have one main goal: to catch Harry Halibut. Harry is a fish they are always trying to get!

In some episodes, like Merry Sharkman, Merry Sharkman and To Catch a Halibut, Misterjaw and Catfish are chased by a character called Fearless Freddy the Shark Hunter.

Who Made the Show?

The cartoons were directed by Robert McKimson and Sid Marcus. David H. DePatie and Friz Freleng were the producers. The music for the show was created by Doug Goodwin. You might even hear a short version of the famous Jaws movie theme song in the cartoons!

All the episodes show the series title, episode title, and a 1976 copyright. They also include a laugh track, which is a common sound effect in old cartoons.
