Mitsuteru Watanabe's Football Journey

Mitsuteru Watanabe was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on April 10, 1974. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Waseda University, he began his professional football career.

Playing for Kashiwa Reysol

In 1997, Watanabe joined Kashiwa Reysol, a team in the top Japanese football league, the J1 League. From 1998, he started playing in many matches as a right-side midfielder. His team had great success during this time.

In 1999, Kashiwa Reysol won the 1999 J.League Cup, which was a big achievement. Watanabe became a regular player in 2000, meaning he played almost every game. The team also finished in third place in the J1 League in both 1999 and 2000. He played for Kashiwa Reysol until 2003.

Time with Gamba Osaka
