Mohamad bin Aziz (born 29 July 1940 – died 24 December 2020) was an important politician from Malaysia. He served as a Member of Parliament for the area called Sri Gading in Johor. He was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) party. This party was part of the ruling group known as Barisan Nasional.
Mohamad Aziz held several key roles during his career. From 1981 to 1986, he worked as an assistant to Hussein Onn. Hussein Onn was a former Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Political Career Highlights
Early Roles in Johor State
Mohamad Aziz was very active in the government of Johor state. From 1990 to 1995, he was part of the Executive Council of Johor. This council is similar to a state cabinet. It helps make important decisions for the state.
After that, from 1995 to 1999, he was the Johor State Government Information Chief. In this role, he helped share information about the government's work with the public.
Serving in the Malaysian Parliament
In 1999, Mohamad Aziz was elected to the Malaysian Parliament. He represented the Sri Gading area. He served as a Member of Parliament until 2013. During this time, he worked on national issues and represented the people of his constituency.
His time in Parliament ended in 2013. His party chose another person to run for the Sri Gading seat.
Speaker of Johor State Assembly
After leaving Parliament, Mohamad Aziz took on a new important role. In 2013, he became the Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly. The Speaker is like the leader of the assembly. They make sure meetings run smoothly and rules are followed.
He also served as the Deputy Permanent Chairman for UMNO Malaysia starting in 2008.
Passing Away
Mohamad Aziz passed away on 24 December 2020. He was 80 years old. He was buried at the Bukit Aliff Muslim cemetery in Johor Bahru.
